Our read of the datasheet
The BAT 8.0 is one module in the SigenStor stack, not a standalone battery. It sits under a SigenStor EC hybrid inverter, which sets the phase, the output to your home and the backup port. Each module adds 7.8 kWh usable and 4 kW of charge and discharge power, with 6 kW for 10 seconds, so the battery side gets stronger as the stack grows, up to what the EC model can pass through.
One module sits under the 14 kWh point where the federal discount rate drops. Two modules make 15.6 kWh, so the last 1.6 kWh earns the discount at a lower rate, and larger stacks move further into the lower bands.
The current Australian warranty covers 10 years with 70% of usable energy retained, or 29.64 MWh of throughput per module, whichever comes first. One full cycle a day would take a little over 10 years to reach that figure. Whole-home backup needs a Sigen Gateway on top of the EC.
We have not tested this battery. This summary follows from the manufacturer's published specifications, checked 23 September 2026.
