About SolarAnswers
We help Australian households make a sound decision about solar and batteries, with straight answers and figures you can check.
What we do
We report on the rebate, tariff and consumer rule changes that affect Australian homes, write guides to the questions people ask before they buy, and review batteries, inverters and panels line by line from their datasheets. Our community lets households ask about their own system and hear from people who have been there. When you are ready, we pass your request to up to three accredited installers in your area so you can compare quotes.
Stories, guides and reviews are written by the SolarAnswers editors. Community posts are written by members and are their own views.
How we write
- Sourced. Every rebate, price and tariff figure links to the government, regulator or industry source it came from, with the date we checked it.
- Dated. Programs change often. Each page shows when its facts were last checked, and we update it when a program changes.
- Plain. We explain terms the first time we use them and avoid sales language.
- Honest about reviews. Our product reviews are datasheet reviews. We say so on every page, and we do not claim to have tested what we have not.
- Careful with promises. We do not tell you what you will save, because it depends on your home, your usage and your tariff. We show you how to work it out.
