How we are paid

What installers pay for

When you ask for quotes, we pass your request to up to three installers who work in your area. Each installer that receives a request pays us a fee for it. We do not charge you, and the fee does not depend on whether you go ahead.

What money cannot buy

• A place in a guide. No installer, manufacturer or retailer can pay to be mentioned, recommended or ranked in our guides or calculators.
• Your details without your say. We only pass on a request when you ask for quotes and agree to it on the form. We never sell lists of names.
• More than three. Your request goes to up to three installers and nobody else.

What we check before an installer receives requests

We ask every installer to confirm, and keep evidence that:

• Their installers hold current Solar Accreditation Australia accreditation.
• They quote Clean Energy Council approved panels, inverters and batteries.
• They hold the licences and insurance their state requires.

We remove installers from our list when we find they no longer meet these checks, or when customers raise problems we cannot resolve. Tell us about any experience, good or bad, at hello@solaranswers.com.au.

What we do not do

We do not sell, install or finance solar panels, batteries or inverters. We do not cover every installer in Australia, so there may be good installers near you who are not on our list. The guides and calculators are general information, not financial advice.
