What belongs here

• Questions about solar panels, batteries, inverters, rebates, tariffs, quotes and installers in Australia.
• Answers from your own experience or knowledge. Say which it is, and say if you work in the industry.
• Comments on our news stories that add something: a correction, a question, your own experience.

What gets removed

• Selling. No promoting your business, referral codes or links to your own products. Installers are welcome to answer, as long as they say so and do not pitch.
• Personal details. Yours or anyone else's: addresses, phone numbers, emails, full names of people who are not public figures.
• Unfair claims about businesses. Describe what happened and stick to facts. Complaints about an installer belong with the installer first, then your state's fair trading office.
• Abuse, harassment, discrimination, or anything unlawful.
• Made-up or paid reviews of products or installers.

How moderation works

An editor checks a new member's first three posts before they appear. After that your posts appear straight away. Editors may remove posts that break these rules, mark useful answers as an editor's pick, and close questions that have been answered. Accounts that keep breaking the rules lose the ability to post.

Answers are general information from other members, not professional advice. Check anything important with a licensed electrician or accredited installer.
