Huawei LUNA2000-S0

The LUNA2000-S0 stacks one to three 5 kWh LFP modules on a power module, for 5, 10 or 15 kWh usable at 100% depth of discharge. It connects to Huawei's SUN2000 inverters in single-phase or three-phase homes, and the datasheet says the system scales to 30 kWh.

Output tops out early. The 5 kWh version gives 2.5 kW, with 3.5 kW for 10 seconds, while the 10 and 15 kWh versions both stop at 5 kW, with 7 kW for 10 seconds, so the third module adds storage but not power. The 10 kWh version sits under the 14 kWh point where the federal discount rate drops, and the 15 kWh version goes 1 kWh past it.

With the SUN2000-L1 and M1 inverters, backup needs a separate Huawei Backup Box, which supplies a single-phase backup circuit of up to 5,000 VA with a single-phase inverter or 3,300 VA with a three-phase one, and takes up to 3 seconds to switch over. The Australian warranty is 10 years or 16.45 MWh per 5 kWh module, whichever comes first, measured against 60% capacity at end of life, a lower figure than the 70% common on other warranties. At one full cycle a day the throughput limit arrives in about nine years.
