GoodWe ESA Series

The ESA is GoodWe's all-in-one system: a power module holding the hybrid inverter, with battery modules stacked beneath it. This page covers the 8.32 kWh GW8.3-BAT-D-G20 module, 8.0 kWh usable, and the same stack can also take 5.1, 6.0 and 9.0 kWh modules. Power modules come in single-phase (3 to 10 kW) and three-phase (5 to 30 kW) versions, and GoodWe says both support whole-home backup through a built-in bypass without a separate gateway.

Each GW8.3 module is rated at up to 8 kW of charge and discharge power, with 12 kW for 10 seconds, and the power module sets what reaches your home. One module sits under the 14 kWh point where the federal discount rate drops. Two make 16.0 kWh, so the part above 14 kWh earns the discount at a lower rate, while a 5.1 and an 8.3 module together give 13.0 kWh, just under it.

GoodWe's Australian warranty for the single-phase ESA covers the GW8.3 module for 10 years, with 70% of usable energy or 29.20 MWh of throughput, whichever comes first. That is 3,650 full cycles, or one a day for 10 years, and the performance cover applies to the cells only. The module has built-in heating, is rated IP66 and charges from -18 C.
