Fox ESS EQ4800

The EQ4800 is a high-voltage stack of 4.66 kWh modules: one EQ4800-M with the battery management system plus one to eight EQ4800-S, for 9.32 to 41.93 kWh usable at 100% depth of discharge. It pairs with Fox ESS hybrid inverters, which provide the backup (EPS) output. Fox's compatibility list allows two modules with the H1-G2 and KH single-phase ranges, three with the H3 Smart and four with the H3 Pro three-phase inverters.

Nominal power rises with the stack, from 4.48 kW for the two-module L2 to 20.16 kW for the nine-module L9, within the paired inverter's own limit. The L2 (9.32 kWh) and L3 (13.98 kWh) sit under the 14 kWh point where the federal discount rate drops, and the L4 and larger go past it.

The Australian warranty covers 10 years with at least 70% of energy retained, or 19.66 MWh of throughput per module, whichever comes first. One full cycle a day would take about 11 and a half years to reach that figure, so at that rate the 10-year term ends first. The battery must be registered and connected to Fox ESS monitoring at commissioning, and it does not charge below 0 C.
