Enphase IQ Battery 5P

The IQ Battery 5P is AC-coupled, with six microinverters built into each unit, so it does not need a separate battery inverter. The datasheet lists it as compatible with Enphase IQ and S Series microinverters. Each unit supplies 3.84 kVA continuously, with 7.68 kVA for 3 seconds and 6.14 kVA for 10 seconds. That is modest for running several large appliances at once, but power adds up as you add units.

Each unit adds 5.0 kWh usable at 100% depth of discharge. Two units make 10 kWh, still under the 14 kWh point where the federal discount rate drops. A third takes you to 15 kWh, so the last 1 kWh earns the discount at a lower rate.

The Australian warranty runs 15 years or 6,000 cycles, whichever comes first, with at least 70% of nameplate capacity at year 10 and 60% at year 15. One full cycle a day would take about 16 years to reach 6,000 cycles, so at that rate the 15-year term ends first. Grid-tied and backup operation both need an IQ System Controller 3 INT.
