Our read of the datasheet
The Primo GEN24 5.0 Plus is a 5 kW single-phase hybrid. The non-Plus GEN24 is the same platform without the battery connection, which Fronius says can be added later through its UP.storage software upgrade in selected countries. The 7.5 kWp maximum PV generator output is 150% of the AC rating, less headroom than hybrids that accept 200%.
Two MPPTs cover a two-face roof, with the first rated for 22 A and the second for 12 A, so the larger string should go on the first input. Compatible batteries listed are Fronius Reserva and BYD Battery-Box Premium HVS and HVM.
Backup comes in two forms. PV Point is built in and provides a separate 3 kVA output with a switching time under 15 seconds. Full Backup covers up to 5 kVA with a switching time of about 10 seconds, but needs additional switchover components. Fronius Australia offers a 10-year warranty when the inverter is registered free on Solar.web.
We have not tested this inverter. This summary follows from the manufacturer's published specifications, checked 23 September 2026.
